Why Donate to Ormrod?
Ormrod Playground Association is busy planning for our Spring and Fall Seasons for Baseball and Softball.
OPA has served the North Whitehall Township for over 90 years (established in 1927) with a mission to teach our youth the fundamentals of baseball and softball and core values of team play, skill development and a desire for lifelong learning. Here at Ormrod, we cannot maintain our commitment to the betterment of our youth baseball and softball programs without the direct support and help of our local community.
Your donation helps offset the costs of equipment, player insurance, operational expenses, and will help supplement participation fees. Your help and support will ensure our area youth are provided a positive baseball or softball experience. OPA is a completely volunteer run organization and 100% of your donation will go to support our programs. We kindly ask that you would consider a sponsorship to our organization with one of our options listed below.
Projects For 2025:
For 2025, we aim to address several important projects to improve our facilities. First, we hope to either repair and improve our beloved playground, which was generously donated over 30 years ago. The playground is a hub for many of our players families and a spot for the children of the neighborhood to enjoy and play.
We're also planning to update the clubhouse siding and make essential repairs to the snack stand for improved functionality.
We’d also like to offer discounted winter workout programs for our members. For baseball, this includes sending players to strength and agility classes, and in January, enrolling them in the Nike RBI Winter Workout program where they can enhance their pitching, hitting, fielding, and catching skills. For our softball teams, they look to rent indoor facilities for their winter workouts.
Additionally, we aim to replace the netting in our batting cages.
As far as a wish list for the coming years - we’d love to add lights to our main field, extending playtime and allowing teams to finish games without being called due to darkness.
